Maritime monitors report continued threats to shipping in the Strait of Hormuz as Yemen's Houthis intensify strikes on Saudi Arabia's infrastructure and airports.
A maritime risk firm warned Thursday that vessels in the Strait of Hormuz face ongoing "indiscriminate attacks" regardless of whether they disable tracking systems, confirming three strikes on ships this week. The Iran-backed Houthis have escalated operations across multiple fronts, attacking Saudi Arabia's Riyadh airport 20 times in October alone, according to coalition spokesman Turki Al-Malki.
Houthi military operations intensified with a missile strike on Yemen's presidential palace in Aden, killing four people and wounding ten according to government military sources. The group also fired ballistic missiles at the central city of Marib. Saudi Arabia said it intercepted a cruise missile over the Medina region, though the Houthis denied responsibility.
